In my youth, I dedicated countless hours honing my skills in pen and paper drawings, focusing keenly on mastering the intricate forms of the human body with dreams of becoming a comic book artist. However, a serendipitous encounter with a glassblowing studio just outside Seattle, Washington, shortly after the birth of my oldest son in 2000, altered the course of my artistic journey forever. For the past 23 years, I've dedicated myself to mastering the intricate techniques of both soft and borosilicate glass.

Venturing into the world of glassblowing wasn't without its challenges. Learning the nuances and intricacies often meant embracing trial and error, with more than two decades spent absorbing knowledge from mentors while also teaching myself through daily practice. The responsibility of providing for my family served as a powerful motivator during moments of doubt, while their unwavering love, support, and encouragement fueled my determination to pursue my passion.

My own journey inspired the creation of my YouTube channel, The GHE (The GlassHole Experience), where I aim to share my wealth of knowledge and experience with fellow glass enthusiasts. Private classes can be elusive, requiring significant travel and expense, which led me to establish a platform where lampworking guidance is freely accessible to all. Through The GHE, I hope to give back to the art community and offer support to those seeking guidance in their glassblowing endeavors.

As for the name GlassHole, I'm aware of its playful similarity to "asshole," but it's merely a reflection of my own brand of sarcasm. Those who know me understand that I'm far from being anything of the sort.
